So over the holidays alot of partying, and over eating happens, but thats not what I want to touch on. Another vice that we tend to do over the holidays is drink. We may receive gifts that are alcohol based, parties where there's alcoholic beverages. ALCOHOL,ALCOHOL AND MORE ALCOHOL!!!! So of course we may have excess weight gain during this time. So how do we combat that? Well of course drinking in moderation is always key. So what is moderation you might be wondering? Well according to the Mayo clinic two drinks for men and one for women is considered to be the moderation standard.

To help with extra loaded calories simply cut the mixers, such as Juices, Colas, sweetened syrups, or Tonics. For example a 12oz can of pepsi has 150 calories. So just think if you have multiple Rum's and coke's that would add up very fast. Well how about something nutritious like OJ, Pineapple juice. Now the calories from these drinks do drop a bit but it is still over 100 calories, and now lets add the liquor calories on top of that. One shot of liquor ranges from 64-125 calories with Tequila being the lowest and Whiskey at the top. So in conclusion cut the extra's and drink your alcohol straight no chaser. Happy Holidays.
